I've recently become enamored with audiobooks. This makes sense, now that I've changed my commute from 6 miles roundtrip (with two jobs that were a mile from each other) to 100 miles a day (between two jobs that are exactly the same distance from my house...in opposite directions).
Ugh.
So, yeah, I'm on my fifth audiobook in the past two weeks. I think it's a love affair to last the ages. And here are five reasons why:
1) I get a little tired of hearing my own voice reading out loud.
2) The wheel gets in the way of turning the page.
3) Bawling my eyes out while driving makes other drivers feel better about their lives.
4) Listening to someone else's (fictional) problems is so much more interesting than being stuck in Bay Area traffic.
5) I can't really blow off the other stuff I need to do, because I look like a total ass (or psycho stalker, six of one) sitting in my truck staring into nothing while listening.
